April 20, 2009 - Cheers to the Volunteers!

FARGO-MOORHED REDHAWKS ANNOUNCE

“CHEERS TO THE VOLUNTEERS”

FLOOD RECOVERY APPRECIATION PARTY

FARGO, ND – After a long spring of pitching sandbags, the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks are inviting area Flood Fighters to come watch some pitching of another kind…as well as some hitting and fielding.

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks are hosting the “Cheers to the Volunteers” Celebration on Sunday, May 17 when the team takes on the Gary SouthShore RailCats at 1:00 p.m. at Newman Outdoor Field.  The RedHawks will be giving away 4,082 tickets to the game to anyone who helped battle this springs flood.  The number 4,082 corresponds to the Red River’s record crest of 40.82 feet.

The “Cheers to the Volunteers” event is sponsored by Hornbacher’s, Meritcare, Nodak Mutual Insurance, 702 Communications and State Bank & Trust

In addition to free tickets, the first 5,000 Flood Fighters at the game will receive a t-shirt from CI Sport commemorating the day and the flood battle, while popular local band Carmen The Cactus will play a free post-game concert.

Starting on Saturday, April 25 from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., anyone who helped fight the flood can pick up tickets to the May 17 game at the RedHawks Ticket Office, located in the lower level of Newman Outdoor Field.  The RedHawks will continue to give away tickets for this special event until they are gone.  The RedHawks Ticket Office is open from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 pm. from Monday-Friday, and 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays other than April 25.

“This is our way of saying Thank You to as many volunteers as we can accommodate.  We want people to come out, relax and enjoy a baseball game on us,” said RedHawks Executive Vice President Brad Thom.  “The flood affected many families in the area, including my own, and we want to recognize the generosity, selflessness and determination of all those volunteers who helped family, friends and strangers during those tense days.”

March 9, 2009 - 702 Communications accounting department helps in rebuilding efforts in New Orleans, LA.

At a recent convention for Microsoft Dynamics, 702 employee’s Jennifer Rise, Finance Director, Erin Bachmann, Accountant and Jessica Wieser, Purchasing and Inventory Technician, along with 1,000 other convention attendees worked with the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity at Musicians’ Village. It’s the vision of musicians Harry Connick, Jr. and Branford Marsalis. Their desire was to bring musicians home after the devastating storms of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and to ensure the musical culture and heritage of New Orleans wasn’t lost! Volunteers assisted with a much needed site preparation project to help drainage throughout the village.
